Xfce
Xfce is a lightweight desktop environment for unix-like operating systems. It aims to be fast and lightweight, while still being visually appealing and easy to use.
Xfce has always been known for it being light-weight (in terms of size), yet fully functional and extremely fast. That is, if KDE is a bit slow on your system, Xfce is always there as the alternate desktop environment. For some, Xfce is also the first choice.
