Introduction

We all need web browsers to visit a website, don't we? Modern web browsers much more features than just allowing us to visit a website. Some of the most common features prevalent in most of today's browsers are:

  • Tabbed browsing
  • Ability to add new themes
  • Ability to add new Extensions / Add Ons
  • Password remembering
  • Pop-up blocking
  • Support for latest web technologies, such as JavaScript, AJAX.

There are quite a good number of web browsers available in Granular. These are:

Setting The Default Web Browser in KDE

KDE is the default desktop environment in Granular, and Firefox the default web browser. To set up some other browser as the default web browser in KDE, follow these steps:

  • Go to Menu > System > Configuration > Control Center. Then navigate to KDE Components > Component Chooser > Web Browser.
  • Click the small button against the "in the following browser" field.
  • Choose the desired browser from the list that appears and click OK.
