Installing preferred language pack
From Granular Linux Documentation
Introduction
You might want to install a language pack other than English (included by default in Granular) perhaps because you want to have the interface display text and messages in your own language (mother tongue). This small tutorial will show you how to do exactly that.
NOTE: As you would be installing the language pack for KDE, not all the text and messages would be translated/displayed in your language. You might still see some text in English. Also, this process is valid only for the KDE desktop environment.
Installing a language pack
- Open Synaptic Package Manager.
- Perform a search for "kde-i18".
- From the resulting list, mark your preferred language pack for installation. Say, if you wanted to install Hindi language support, you would choose to install the package "kde-i18-hi".
- Once the language pack has been installed, proceed to enabling that language for your interface.
Enabling your language pack
- Open KDE Control Center by going to Menu > System > Configuration > Control Center.
- Go to Regional Accessibility > Country - Region & Language.
- Click on the "Add Language" button and select the language you just installed. This will add that language in the "Languages" list.
- Move your preferred language to the top of list.
- Click the "Apply" button.
- For changes to take effect, log out and log back in.
