Error: The Lisa daemon does not appear to be running

Problem

When I access My Computer > Remote Places > Local Network, an error appears "The Lisa daemon does not appear to be running.".

Solution

The Lisa daemon (service) does not start automatically by default in Granular. To fix the problem:

  • Open Granular Control Center - Menu > System > Configuration > Configure Your Computer.
  • In the Control Center, go to System > Manage System Services and find the service "lisa" in the list.
  • Tick the option "On boot" to make it start automatically the next time you start your computer. Also, click on the "Start" button to start the service now.
  • Click the "Ok" button to save the changes.
