Email clients in one of the commonly used Internet applications. Today, almost everyone has at least one email account. Web-based email accounts, like those provided by Yahoo! and GMail, are getting more and more popular, but the traditional email accounts, like those provided by a company or institution or ISP, are still very much prevalent, and here is where the email clients' role comes into play.

Email Clients Available

  • Mozilla Thunderbird (included in Granular)
  • KMail (available in repository)

Setting The Default Email Client in KDE

KDE is the default desktop environment in Granular, and Thunderbird the default web browser. To set up some other browser as the default web browser in KDE, follow these steps:

  • Go to Menu > System > Configuration > Control Center. Then navigate to KDE Components > Component Chooser > Email Client.
  • Select the option "Use KMail as preferred email client".

OR

  • Click the small button against the "Use a different email client" field.
  • Choose the desired browser from the list that appears and click OK.
